DWI Report Writing

Detecting and apprehending impaired drivers is an important everyday task for law enforcement officers. Typically, officers can recognize signs of impairment, however they sometimes struggle articulating what they observed. Stop turning in garbage and learn from the mistakes I have made on DWI reports throughout my career.

This presentation identifies and discusses common mistakes in DUI reports, assists officers in understanding the importance of a thorough and accurate report, identifies the important aspects of DUI a report and how to document them and discusses the relationship between the report and cross examination.
